Christie Thomas

Christie Thomas is vice president of Contracts and Pricing at Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries in Newport News, Va. Named to this position in 2018, Thomas has overall responsibility for contracts, pricing and export/import licensing and compliance for the Newport News shipyard.

Thomas began her shipbuilding career at Ingalls Shipbuilding in 2006 and has since held various director-level positions in supply chain management, business management, business development, and contracts and pricing. In 2017, she was promoted to corporate director of investor relations at HII’s corporate office. Prior to shipbuilding, Thomas spent 12 years with Lockheed Martin in finance and business operations.

A native of Pennsylvania, Thomas earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Bucknell University and an MBA in finance from State University of New York at Binghamton. She is a co-founder of the Ingalls Shipbuilding Women in Shipbuilding Enterprise (WiSE) employee resource group and a graduate of the Leadership Mississippi Class of 2012. She is also a graduate of Lockheed Martin’s Financial Management Development Program. Thomas is a member of the National Contract Management Association, U.S. Navy League, National Women in Defense, American Business Women’s Association, National Investor Relations Institute and United States Tennis Association.
