 Shuttle Services 

Newport News Shipbuilding is committed to providing safe and convenient transportation offerings to employees at no cost. Services are managed by the company’s Facilities Transportation Team and are available to all employees with a valid NNS badge.

In an effort to conveniently transport employees in a timely manner to worksites, the company provides both internal and external shuttle routes. Shuttles are operational Monday through Friday, except for company-observed holidays. Employees planning to use shuttle services should allow at least 25 minutes to reach their job site.

Taxi Services

Employees can use the company’s free taxi service to get to and from buildings on NNS’ campus. Taxis can accommodate individuals or groups of up to 12 employees at one time.

Rides can be requested by calling numbers listed below; same day taxi rides can be scheduled in advance. Employees should be aware that taxis do not pickup from NNS parking lots and/or garages.

Taxi drivers will verify employees’ company badge prior to ride. Due to current demand, this service is only available Monday through Friday on first and second shift.

NNXPRESS: Locate Company Shuttles and Taxis

Newport News Shipbuilding provides complimentary on-campus park-and-ride transportation services (inside and outside of shipyard gates) for its employees – these services include shuttles and taxis. The company’s fulltime shuttles and taxis are equipped with GPS locators, enabling users to view a map of NNS shuttle routes and also pinpoint the exact location and estimated time of arrival to specific shuttle stops during operational hours.

To view real-time location of these vehicles, download the NNXPRESS app. The app is free and available for public download in both the Google Play and/or Apple app stores by searching, “NNXPRESS.”
